Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12. Everyone is part of a family, and FCCLA is the only national Career and Technical Student Organization with the family as its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education.

Chapter Spotlight

LaSAS is a rural agriscience charter school located in central Louisiana. We offer an innovative approach to the education process with the central theme focusing on the agricultural sciences.

Students can follow a career path or pursue a college preparatory track. Designed for grades 8-12, the school is based on the premise that students learn more effectively when learning is connected to the real world.

The LaSAS FCCLA chapter is 42 members strong. They recently sponsored a BINGO in order to fulfill the Wish List of the Turning Point Shelter in Alexandria, LA. Due to the kindness of the student body, FCCLA members were able to donate over 100 wish list items to the Turning Point Shelter. LaSAS then traveled to the shelter to deliver the personal hygiene supplies to the survivors of domestic abuse. Through this comprehensive community service project, members were also able to make a sizeable monetary contribution to this non-profit organization.
